2015 - The Pieper Project
As in many companies, the Pieper sailing school in Hamburg was still painstakingly managed with standard software. Therefore, the owner Joachim Schacht was looking for a program that would make administration easier and faster. Even after a long search, no suitable program was found that was tailored to his processes. Out of this situation, Joachim Schacht decided to have the development of a specialized software ordered.
Tobias, founder of Webbee GmbH, had just finished his education as a software developer and was preparing for his physics studies at a technical college. 2015 he got a call from Mr. Schacht and the job was very convenient for him, because he was able to finance his studies. It was the first time that Tobias dared to take on a project of this size. What was not clear to him at that time was the immense amount of time this project took. So he began to program a complete administration system with bookkeeping and accountancy while he was working parallel in the technical college with the basics of physics.
A few months later Tobias passed his first exams only by a narrow margin. The project also progressed sluggishly and initial doubts arose as to whether it was a good idea to focus on studying and the project at the same time. After another 6 months without much progress, all participants had doubts whether the project would be a success at all. It was then that Tobias realized that he had to decide, either for the project or for his studies. An end of the project would have been a huge setback for the sailing school Pieper, because they had already invested a lot of money and time in the project. Moreover, Tobias thought that if he would lead this project to success, he would be able to choose the company he wanted to work for in the future. So he made his decision.
He put his studies on hold and worked with full commitment on the project for the sailing school Pieper. With full dedication it progressed quickly and in 6 months the software was actually ready for use. Since then the software simplifies the administration in the sailing school greatly and to this day the owner Joachim Schacht and his team are happy about it. For Tobias the project was a milestone on his way. A project in which one thing has become particularly clear: Only full commitment brings success. Only half commitment does not bring success.
